Activities in the Summer
Anything is possible!
You would like to visit historical centres of art and architecture such as Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, Cortona, Pisa, Lucca, Arezzo, Montepulciano or Greve in the Chianti region?
What about a refreshing dip in the icy spring water of the "Bagni di Cetica"? Hiking, lovely walks in forests near us (e.g. in "La Foresta die Sant'Antonio"), horse riding or courses in cooking or painting - there is plenty to do for everyone!
Experiencing Tuscan Culture
Perhaps you would also enjoy a day tour visiting five beautiful churches of the Romanesque period which are very close by. What about taking your car and going on an excursion in the famous Chianti Classico region with its excellent wines? You can also explore the countryside and beautifully situated small villages near us and sip an Espresso on old market squares.
In the evenings you can go to concerts (mostly classical music) which are held in beautiful locations and are often free of charge.
Two abbeys - La Verna and Camaldoli - in fantastic locations deserve special mention. Both are situated in the unspoilt forest of Casentino on the other side of the mountain range. There is tourism here, but it is possible to retreat and follow in the footsteps of Holy St. Francis. The drive takes about two hours and you will see beautiful woodlands and small villages largely untouched by progress on your way there.
Leisure Activities and Sightseeing
Shopping in modern outlets, swimming in outdoor pools nearby (Reggello, Figline, San Giovanni), visiting museums like the Uffizzi, Palazzo Pitti, San Marco or going to small quaint museums like the Museum of Peasant Folklore in Figline or the Masaccio Museum in Cascia - all this can be done within convenient reach from our holiday apartment. Of course, there are also tennis courts and riding as well as fishing are possible within a distance of 2km. Golf courses are about 35km away.
Spend the summer in Reggello and experience a perfect holiday in the heart of Tuscany!
